Just got 400 more crimps in from SNL I don't use swivels we rarely hunt in water more than 3 feet deep anyway. And often less than that. I run both mushroom weights usually for the coast and higher wind situations, and short strap weights punched in the center of the weight.for more or less tighter water..

CJ wind ducks are not the best its all about wing speed, If you get a motorized spinning wing take a look at LuckyDuck. I hunt with a couple of guys that have bought everyone out there and this has been the best for us.

rebelp74 wrote:I use the same 400# mono that I do on my texas rigs for my long lines. The only problem I have with it, is I don't use them all that often and the mono has good bit of memory in it. But when I put them out, i keep the line tight when feeding it out and it keeps it from tangling.

Im surprised you guys get tangles. I run the 400# mono and egg weights on my 12doz and I put them straight into the bag. Never had a tangle. I found that.when you make the loop and run the mono through the crimp they work best if you don't push the tag end out of the end of the crimp.

I still think it's hard to beat my method for simplicity. (at least for shallow water) 2-3 feet of real Tanglefree line. One of the big rolls of Tanglefree line will last a regular duck hunter a lifetime.

I found them a little too late. Just ordered 100 yd of 400 lb test mono leader and 100 2.2mm crimps. Also picked up some 3/0 coastlock swivels.
